There is no title which covers the spectrum of this post.

As I sit here amongst two crying kids and one aggravated husband, it is probably a good thing that there is very little chance of fireworks-makers knocking on my door tonight. My two year old son can't comprehend that the same loud BOOMs he keeps hearing outside his window are caused by, what some consider, entertainment. All he knows is that he doesn't remember ever hearing such ruckus, and just about the time he falls asleep from the previous BOOM, another one goes off. Argh. For next year, I propose that a quieter alternative is utilized--like laser shows: pretty, yet silent. Win win.
Unrelated: On the way home from Joplin yesterday, I started pondering water towers. What purpose do they serve? They can't really store enough water to make their presence worthwhile, can they? Is there actually water in them? How does the water get in there? Furthermore, how do the Animaniacs live in a water tower without drowning?

Since I assume most of you are off work tomorrow, I wanted to give you something to do to pass the time until you get to go back to work. I suggest a scavenger hunt. Don't forget to take pictures as you find/do the following things. Feel free to send them to me; I like pictures.

Find:
1. 4 Sonic mints in your car. Melted ones count as 2.
2. 3 turnpike receipts in your console.
3. 4 exposed bellies in Wal-Mart (and/or Target, Kmart, etc.)
4. 2 open gas lids on passing cars
5. 1 woman still wearing her Americana garb on the 5th of July.
6. A water tower
7. A homeless person with clean shoes.

Do:
8. Turn the thermostat to 75 degrees and see how long it takes a family member to curse.
9. Change your profile picture on Facebook to a picture of you giving a thumbs up.
10. Comment once on this blog. Haha, gotcha! You can't complete the hunt without posting. Brilliant! (P.S. I am going to write an entry with directions for commenting, since I hear many of you are having problems.)

Until tomorrow.
